SAFE & SOBER TEEN DRIVER EDUCATION
The Automobile Insurers Bureau of Massachusetts has been the
proud sponsor for over 25 years of a grant that enables the Safety Council of
Western New England to provide the "Safe & Sober Teen Driver Education"
Program (formerly Drinking, Driving & You) to High School sophomores
throughout Western Massachusetts. Annually, new classes of students learn
about the importance of safe driving attitudes and behaviors in addition to
the dangers of Drinking, Drugging and Driving. During the program, the
instructor conveys examples on the repercussions of decisions made behind
the wheel and responds to the challenging questions posed by student
participants. Students receive a Fact Sheet on blood alcohol content,
"A Contract For Life between Parent and Teenager" provided by the Students
Against Driving Drunk (S.A.D.D.), numerous newspaper articles capturing
automobile accidents involving teens and extensive Safe Driver Educational Materials.
Communities throughout Western Massachusetts are extremely grateful for
the Automobile Insurers Bureau of Massachusetts ongoing funding,
commitment and support of the Safety Council of Western New England. Without their
